Netarts Dungeness CrabNetarts Bay has some wonderful crabbing.  Complete crabbing packages that include boat, bait and crab rings are available a few blocks away at Netarts Bay RV Park and Marina.  You can also get the required shellfish license at the marina.
Oceanside Beach, OregonThere is a small beach north of the mouth of Netarts Bay and the spit is itself a sandy beach.  The local favorite, however, is Oceanside beach (pictured) a scenic three miles north of the house.  This long, sandy stretch of beautiful Oregon coast is perfect for playing in the waves on sunny days, kite flying, exploring and endless walks on sand.
Cape Lookout State Park
Cape Lookout State ParkA popular campground and day-use area, Cape Lookout is located on a sand spit between Netarts Bay and the ocean, giving you a terrific view of the ocean with easy access to the beach. Beach combing is popular here, and the park is reputedly a good place to find glass floats. More than eight miles of hiking and walking trails wind through a lush old-growth forest. The Cape Lookout trail follows the headland for more than 2 miles. A bench is located at the end of the trail. Enjoy the view! You might see a whale or two along with other wildlife.  All within a short distance from our Netarts rental!

Scuba Diving
Netarts Scuba DivingThere are several scuba diving sites near the house.  Netarts Bay is a good choice to shore dive for crab or to observe the elusive octopus.  Good instructions for entering the water can be found here.

More diving sites can be found at Barview Park, Three Graces, Lumber Dock and Hobsonville Point.

Be sure to check the tide tables for Netarts Bay to find a nice slack tide before going in.  Also be sure to observe all standard safety measures and be courteous of boats if entering at the boat launch.
